How I Live United

Kerr_Web_-_Small.JPG

My Name is Kerr.

Volunteering has become a way of life since my retirement in 2001. Volunteering with various non-profits, like Habitat for Humanity and our church youth group allows me the opportunity to improve life for those who are less fortunate. And as a bonus, I get to spend quality time with people I love and care about.

I Don't Just Wear The Shirt,

I Live It!

Volunteer Leadership

United Way of Marion County is separately incorporated and operates independently of other United Way chapters. The small paid staff works with hundreds of volunteers drawn from Marion County's public and private sectors. Direction for the organization comes from an all-volunteer Board of Directors. An all-volunteer Community Investment Committee also evaluates community needs, reviews funding requests from Agency Partners and makes recommendations to the Board regarding which programs will receive funding in a given year.
